Washington, D.C. –  Today, the U.S. House of Representatives unanimously passed legislation, introduced by U.S. Representative Mike Coffman, to designate the U.S. Post Office located at 9609, South University Boulevard in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, as the “Deputy Sheriff Zackari Spurlock Parrish, III, Post Office”, and the U.S. Post Office located at 90 North 4thAvenue in Brighton, Colorado, as the “Deputy Sheriff Heath McDonald Gumm Post Office” in honor of both officers who were killed in the line of duty in the 6th Congressional district.

I’m honored the House unanimously approved my legislation to rename these post offices in memory of Deputies Parrish & Gumm,” said Coffman. He added, “I’ll work with my Senate colleagues to get this across the finish line to ensure their legacies of service and sacrifice will be remembered by our community for future generations.”

Officer Parrish, of the Douglas County Sheriff Office, was killed on December 31st, 2017 as he responded to a domestic disturbance call in Highlands Ranch, while Officer Gumm, of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, was killed during a foot pursuit of a suspect in Thornton on January 24, 2018.

The bills will now move to the Senate for consideration and final passage.
