Coffman Named to FY19 NDAA Conference Committee
Tasked with Resolving Differences on Annual Defense Act
Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Coffman (R-CO), who Chairs the House Armed Services Committee’s Military Personnel Subcommittee, was selected by Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) to serve on the House-Senate conference committee to resolve differences between the House and Senate versions of the Fiscal Year 2019 (FY19) National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The NDAA specifies the annual budget, expenditures and policies for U.S. Army, Air Force, Navy, and the Marine Corps for the entire next fiscal year.
“I want to thank Speaker Ryan for selecting me to serve on the NDAA conference committee. Those of us in Congress have no greater responsibility than providing for the defense of our country and this is an opportunity to have a leadership role in making sure that the United States has the best trained, best led, and best equipped military in the world,” said Coffman, a Marine Corps combat veteran.
The House of Representatives passed its version of the FY19’ NDAA on May 24, 2018. Coffman, whose subcommittee’s focus is on personnel matters included critical provisions to address the challenges of recruiting, retention and support for military families in the NDAA.
