Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Coffman (R-CO) released the following statement regards the Border Security and Immigration Reform Act (H.R. 6136):

“While today’s vote is a set-back, I will not take a step back. Last month, my colleagues and I took the bold step of supporting the discharge petition on a “Queen-of-the-Hill” measure to force a vote on a range of immigration reform proposals and today we finally had a vote on one of them. Although this measure did not pass, our fight for immigration reform will continue. We need to secure our borders, keep families together, and have an immigration system that works to help grow our economy. The time for immigration reform is still now.”
