Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Facility
VA Medical Center Named after Coffman’s Delegation Push
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mike Coffman applauded the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) decision to name the VA Medical Center, currently under construction in Aurora, Colorado, the “Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center”.
On June 23, 2017, Coffman’s office authored a letter to VA Secretary, David Shulkin, requesting the facility be named the ‘Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Facility’. The United Veterans Committee of Colorado, a coalition of over 50 service organizations, as well as the American Legion Department of Colorado endorsed the facilities proposed naming.
The letter, which can be seen HERE, was signed by the entire Colorado delegation stated:
“The long anticipated and much needed facility will provide enhanced care to the hundreds of thousands of veterans who live in Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah and portions of other states across the Rocky Mountain West. To reflect appropriate the area this facility will serve, we believe it should receive a name in the spirit of this region of the western United States”.
Coffman added “I want to thank Secretary Shulkin for this announcement, as I think this name is reflective of those many veterans it will serve…. I look forward to the ribbon cutting for this facility in the coming months”.
