U.S. Representative Mike Coffman was presented today with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “Spirit of Enterprise” Award. The award recognizes Rep. Coffman’s work supporting the U.S. Chamber’s agenda for economic policies that encourage private investment, economic growth, and job creation.
"I am honored to have received and be recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a lawmaker who fights to promote pro-growth polices that helps our nation's businesses create jobs. As someone who previously ran a small business, I know firsthand the challenges and uphill battles employers face day-to-day just to keep their doors open. This recognition is for those businesses that are the engine of our economic growth."
The Chamber’s prestigious Spirit of Enterprise Award is given annually to members of Congress based on rankings it gives for key business votes outlined in its yearly publication How They Voted. Congressman Coffman 2016 score was a 93%
The U.S. Chamber is the world’s largest business federation representing more than three million businesses and organizations of all size, sector, and region. Designated key votes are recorded floor votes on issues established as priorities on which the Chamber communicates its position prior to the vote. Those members of Congress who support the Chamber’s position on at least 70% of those votes receive the award.
