Rep. Mike Coffman (R-6th) spent his Thanksgiving recognizing and honoring some active veterans deployed in Afghanistan and unable to make it home for the holiday.

“This Thanksgiving, I had the honor of visiting with our troops and spending the holiday with those forward deployed in Afghanistan,” said Coffman, a Marine Corps combat veteran. “We are most thankful for their service and for their sacrifices. I also want to extend a special holiday greeting and thanks to their families who had to celebrate this holiday without them.”

Coffman led a bi-partisan Congressional delegation to Afghanistan during the Thanksgiving recess to meet with U.S. and Afghan military and government leaders to discuss and assess the current security situation in the region.
