I believe that we are on the verge of a dramatic revolution in the way our ground transportation system operates due to the rapidly maturing technology of self-driving vehicles.  The most important way the Federal government can help accommodate this is to establish a legal and regulatory framework that anticipates the development of self-driving vehicles that can more efficiently utilize our existing transportation infrastructure. 

In addition, it is important that we work with state governments to overhaul how we raise the revenue necessary to support our ground transportation infrastructure. The current reliance on the existing motor fuels tax and the projected increase of electric-powered vehicles that are not subject to the tax makes this an imperative
