Israel is the strongest ally that the United States has in the Middle East and shares our strategic interest in the region. Israel wants peace and is better able to resolve their differences with the Palestinians without the interference of the United States.

Washington, DC -- U.S. Representative Mike Coffman (CO-06) released the following statement regarding the United Nations vote on Israeli settlements:
"The decision of the US to abstain from the UN vote last week in addition to the comments by Secretary Kerry today is one that directly contradicts the US-Israeli relationship of mutual trust and support. Mixed messages in foreign policy on behalf of this administration undermines US interests and jeopardizes our relationships around the globe."

“The economic sanctions should be strengthened and only relaxed when Iran stops engaging in state-sponsored terrorism,” said Coffman, a Marine Corps combat veteran. “From my experience in the region, watching Iran fund terrorist attacks against my fellow Marines, I have learned that Iran cannot be trusted. I will stand with our ally Israel in opposing this agreement when it comes before Congress.”
